These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TaxLiteMTD mobile application and website (together, the "Service"), provided by Innovation Hub Studio Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Please note: TaxLiteMTD is a tool to help you keep records and make submissions to HMRC. It does not provide tax, accounting, or legal advice, and you remain responsible for the accuracy of what you submit.
1. The Service
TaxLiteMTD helps sole traders, self-employed individuals, and landlords record income and expenses and submit quarterly updates and a Final Declaration to HMRC under Making Tax Digital for Income Tax (MTD for ITSA). Features and availability may change as the Service develops.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and managing your own tax affairs, or authorised to act, in order to use the Service.
3. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the figures you enter and submit
- You must keep your device and account credentials secure
- You must use the Service in line with HMRC's requirements and applicable law
- You are responsible for meeting your own filing deadlines, even where the Service provides reminders
4. No tax or financial advice
The Service provides tools and estimates only. It is not a substitute for professional advice. Any figures, calculations, or estimates shown are for guidance and may not reflect your full tax position. If your affairs are complex, you should seek advice from a qualified professional.
5. Your relationship with HMRC
Submissions you make through the Service go to HMRC. You are responsible for the content of those submissions. We are not responsible for HMRC's systems, decisions, processing times, or any penalties arising from late or inaccurate submissions.
6. Subscriptions and payment
The Service offers a free tier and a paid Premium subscription. Prices, including any introductory rates, are shown in the app and on our website and may change with notice. Subscriptions are billed through the relevant app store, and you can manage or cancel them through your app store account. Refunds are handled according to the app store's policies.
7. HMRC recognition
TaxLiteMTD is undergoing HMRC's recognition process for MTD-compatible software. Until that process is complete, certain submission features may be limited or unavailable. We will update the Service and our website as recognition progresses.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or modify the Service for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, content, and software, is owned by Innovation Hub Studio Ltd and protected by law. You may use the Service for your own tax affairs but may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any tax penalties, interest, or charges arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
